Schools Agreement — So when do we get the money?
The exact date that members will see their pay rises depends on the outcome of this week's ballot and is then in the hands of the Workplace Authority, but our best guess is the money will flow in the pay period starting either August 14 or 28.

New pay offer for teachers
22/07/2008 6:19:00 PM
THE State Government announced it had reached a pay agreement with the State School Teachers Union, however local teachers have said they would closely examine the offer.
Under the proposed deal, pay increases range from a minimum of 15.84 per cent to 21.67 per cent for WA’s public school teachers and administrators.
After 10 months of bitter negotiations the government has reached an in principle agreement with the union.
Local Bunbury teacher Janine Wells said teachers would closely examine the offer.
“The offer does not do anything to address the teacher shortage,” she said.
“There are still problems with work load, class sizes, DOTT time (duties other than teaching), behaviour management and pay. In this offer none of those have really been adequately addressed.
“When teachers get the real offer in front of them it may not be good enough.”
Miss Wells said government and media reports that the agreement had been finalised were inaccurate.
“I personally don’t believe there has been a happy response to the offer,” she said.
Despite the in-principal agreement, the union has directed teachers to maintain industrial action against the government, but has advised its members to accept the offer, which would need to be signed off on by September.
